Totem Wins ‘Best Technology Platform’ Award at the Digital Event Awards 2022

Totem, the London-based event-tech company, won the ‘Best Technology Platform’ award at the Digital Event Awards 2022. The awards, organised by Digital Event News, celebrate excellence and innovation in digital events.

Totem’s smart events platform was created in response to the pandemic and the upheaval in the events industry. Alex Hughes and Christopher Bo Shields, the founders of Totem, saw a gap in the events industry market. They aimed to create a platform that accommodated every kind of event, while being truly flexible, customisable, and responsive to customer needs.

Informa now uses its own version of Totem’s platform – ConnectMe – across all Informa Connect events, and extended the partnership further last October, investing in the business.

The Totem platform has hosted over 1,000 events since it started in 2020, across various sectors: financial, law and regulation, biotech and pharma, law and regulation, Education, energy, and media and entertainment.

The Digital Event Awards judging panel noted that Totem has “put the customer at the heart of what drives their product”. The judges added: “One platform for all their clients’ digital needs is impressive and not just limited to the same type of event. In addition, offering creative and production is commended as is the gamification of users’ engagement.”
